Preparing for Financial Turmoil in 2016

Lately I had renewed my Aud term deposit to another 6 months term with an annual interest of 1.625% which is a bit lower than previous. The reason for this is I have just setup a line of credit (overdraft facility) to use the Term deposit as collateral for a OD loan of $800,000 HKD at an interest rate of 5.25%p.a. This loan will give me buying power during the really bad times. I intent to use this money in Stocks index ETF and REIT. When the market collapse hard, I am  going to buy large amount of Index ETF especially Hang Seng Index at a bargain price and I intented to hold it for long 1st for Cashflow and 2nd for capital gain when the market resume it bull trend. Also I have just switch my Pension fund account to Cash in order to prepare for the coming crisis.

Oil and S&P 500 position review

It has been a while since I opened Long position on OIL and Short position on the US S&P 500. It seems to me that both position is taking time to mature. The oil market is still relatively oversupply despite the cut down in expense in big oil company, I guest it will take some time for the oil market to rebound. And for the S&P 500, I am still bearish on it. On the SPY chart, it is still below the 200 day MA. I guess it really need more time. I expected financial crisis to come in few months to a year time. So keep holding my Short position in SH is the best bet. BTW I am going to open up another line of credit facility in the near future, using my Aud Dollar term deposit as collateral. It will give me more buying power when financial crisis arrived. I am preparing for the future.

Completion of UK Student Accomodation Property

After about 1 year of waiting. My Glasgow student accommodation property was finally completed and settled. It should provides an additional Cashflow of GBP 5,500 per year (Before tax) to my Assets Column. And at the same time, I had notice generalized global market bearish. I could feel the time for global market melt down is coming. Especially for the US market., it has been in bull market for 6 year plus. So I have chosen to short  the US stock Market by buying into SH. I have sold my original TLT position with a very small profit. It's been almost 2 months since my last post, as currently I have entered into Gastroenterology Training since 1st of July. I have been busy with my career lately.

OIL LONG POSITION COMPLETED

Last Week I have completed my LONG position in OIL. I have purchase in total 8300 shares of USO with an AVG price of $20.00. Most of the money for this investment come from selling my A50 2823 shares. Currently I have no shares position in Hong Kong or China.

Breaking Even with Trading

Last Week, we had seen the Biggest weekly drop in the A50 2823 ETF about 12% drop in 1 week. That is the biggest drop since the begining of uptrend. It had also break the 1 month low support level at 14.6. With my Avg Entry price at 12.16, I have decided it is time to lock in my gain. I have sold my entire 44000 shares on MONDAY 2015/06/22. I sold it when the market open at a price of $14.42. Which had netted me a gain of $90000 plus HKD. An ROI of about 18% on investment. With this profit in mind, over my last 10 years in stock trading. It had made me ahead of the game again, with a Net Profit over 10 years period of about $20000 plus HKD. With this I am still happy about the result. Although I have aim for more, around half a million profit. But I think it is time to lock in profit in uncertain time. The money I got from selling the share to go to Oil investment. I will update the oil investment bar on the Left shortly. To be honest, It is an important milestone for me in trading over this 10 years going from negative and back to positive territory. It is not easy and I will definitely cherish my money in future trading much much more.The main reason for me to come out ahead in this game is I have limited my losses and Ride on my gain. Oil Investment

With oil price in 10 years low and the demand of oil will certain continue. I can foresee a bull run in oil in the future. Currently crude oil trade 60 USD per barrel. The production cost for oil is about 50 per barrel. With this in mind, I have sold my core ETF position in US which result in a loss of 5000 HKD and put all that money into oil ETF in US. The purchase price is 20.74. I expect price to double in 1-2 years time.

Trading summary from 2003 to 2015 (until now)

I have done some work on reviewing the profit and loss of all my previous trades over these 12 years. I have make a total of 126 trades. Losing Trade = 63 and Winning Trade =61. Max Profit per trade is $127,000 and Max. Loss per trade is $276,430.  Net total loss is $72,000 HKD. It is my Basic Goal to get back this loss money (which is getting even) with my remaining core position in 2823. And my Advance Goal is to make $127,000 with my 2823. The ultimate Goal is 4 times my Max.Profit which is $508,000 HKD. I believe my Core ETF position will bring me to this GOAL.

Recent Stock speculation

My Stock speculation with stock 3888 and 388 has both stop out. Which result in a loss of $11280 and $8037 respectively.  Total Loss of $19317. Well Loss is just part of trading. I had to learn to accept it. The main point is cut your loss stop and let your profit run. That's the Winner attitude. Reflect back on my trading experience, it seem that after every meaning profit and I always give back my profit on the following trades. It is time to stop trading and start thinking. I will stop my stock speculation activity temporary until I have figure a good system for it.

3888 Stock deal - Stock speculation

I have just purchased 3000 shares of 3888. Basic this is a good company with increasing EPS for the last 3 years. ROE of around 16%, with increase in sales for last 3 years. The stock have recently had a big rise from the 1st base with a high of 34.60. Profit taking happen, a second base is almost complete. It is forming a short double bottom base 6 week, I brought the shares when it broke out from the middle peak of double bottom with good volume during noon time. In summary, this is a purchase of a sound company in the middle of a 2nd stage base.

Core Trading System BEGINS.

I have started my Core trading System regime. It involve investing Global over a range of Global Country Index ETF that are trade in the US market. The list of my ETF which consist of 14 involved basically the world + gold and Long term treasury bond from US. Every Quarter, I will invest in the top 3 performing ETF base on their 3-6 months performance. If the top 3 is below the 88 day SMA, I will put the money to TLT (long term bond). On 12 years of backtesting, this has provided with a CAGR of 16.33 % PA. (2003-2014). I have also include a 10 % stop during the backtesting. 2015/05/07 GOAL - PASSIVE INCOME OF $10000 HKD

The due date for achieving my 1st Sub goal of $10,000 HKD per month is coming very soon. And I have already make plan to achieve it. Currently my total monthly cashflow is about $7,811 HKD. I have about $216000 AUD dollar as asset. I will arrange a Term deposit with rate of around 2.3% pa for 6 month plus, which will give me $414 Aud dollars per months Equal to $2,277 HKD. It will equal to total Cashflow of $10088 HKD per month. I haven't make the term deposit yet, cause part of the fund is in Term deposit with yield about 1.25% pa with one month. Crazy Hang Seng Index.

The HSI has rose more than 2000 point over last 2 days. It is very unusual and with this opportunity I have unload some of my position including from 2800 HK ETF with a price of 27.75, net profit $6400 HKD. Not a lot but, still it is profit. And on the other hand, I had also purchase a CBBC CALL on 388, which give me a nice 200% return in 2 weeks. In case you don't know, 388 is the stock code for Hong Kong Stock exchange. I brought the CBBC for 0.26 and sold the position for 0.8. Net Profit of around $26500 HKD. Therefore only 1 stock position for me remain, that is my 2823, which I will hang on until it reach my target price of $23.5 dollars. Article by Macao Millionaire Dollars

Australia property deal Fund secured.

I have recently successfully brought enough Australian dollar which allows me to pay for 47% deposit for my Australia Property in Dockland. The property is under construction. But with the weak Australian dollars and recently there seem to be a rebound from the low point touching the latest 1 month high. Therefore I have decide to buy the rest of the Aussie dollar that require me to secure the deal. The rest 53% of the money will be Finanical via mortgage from NAB bank. With this big sum of deposit, it will be able to make my Australia property a Positive Cash Flow deal. Currently I have about $200,000 plus of Australian dollars in Term deposit. It's been a while that I haven't post any update. I have been busy lately sitting for doctor specialist entry exam. In the mean time, I have also realigned my focus on residenial property which focus on a few area that are great for Growth UK hotspot include London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leicester, Southampton.
